IKEA remodels following ‘leap into the future’

IKEA is planning one of the largest shake-ups to its business model in it’s long history, including switching from iconic warehouse destination stores to smaller city shop fronts, as it also plots it’s roll-out in New Zealand.

IKEA Australia CEO Jan Gardberg says the company has benefited from the “cocooning effect”, as people who were forced to spend more time at home during the pandemic spent money on home offices or home improvements.  Janie Barrett
