If you’ve been awake for 19 hours straight, your brain function is equivalent to having a blood alcohol level of 0.5 per cent.

After two weeks of sleeping six hours a night, your performance declines to the same level as someone who had stayed awake for 24 hours, a study by the University of Pennsylvania shows.
