Year 12 students take foot off pedal as unis bypass ATAR scores

Universities are increasingly making early offers to students based on their year 11 scores in an attempt to shore up domestic student numbers and claw back falling revenues from international students.

The trend to early offers for admission has experts worried about declining standards and lack of transparency.
