Barney Glover will not have time to draw breath as he switches from being vice chancellor of Western Sydney University to the new commissioner of the federal government’s major skills and workforce agency.

A mathematician by training, Professor Glover has been at the helm of Western Sydney University since 2014, before which he headed up Charles Darwin University.
