Unis are bastions of conformity, not radical thinking: academic

Universities are far from breeding grounds for left-wing radicalism and are instead part of a socialisation process that produces workers who are conformist and lacking in prejudice – perfect employees for the corporate world, says a leading business academic.

Raymond da Silva Rosa, a professor of finance from the University of Western Australia Business School, says it is a total myth that a university education stirs up radical ideologies. Instead, higher education sends a reliable signal to employers of a graduate’s ability to conform.
