Pro-Palestinian protesters are peaceful here, say university bosses
Pro-Palestinian protesters have set up makeshift encampments in the grounds of at least three of Australia’s most prominent universities, but there is no sign of American-style violence spreading to Australia, according to vice chancellors.
Tent cities have been erected on the campuses of Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland over the past four days as students and staff demand their universities cut research ties with Israeli universities and defence companies.
