Geneva | It’s 10pm on Wednesday at the Hublot Big Bang party at the Geneva Arena, and flamboyant pop star Mika is cavorting about the stage in a neon-pink suit. Guests include footballing superstar Kylian Mbappe and sprint legend Usain Bolt, plus about 500 international watch retailers, influencers and journalists.
They’re being fed by not just one but five chefs flown in from Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. Each has been coaxed into making dishes inspired by Hublot’s watch-making materials. Clare Smyth of London’s Core, for example, has gamely contrived a molecular dessert based on red ceramic.
