Systemic flaws in the training sector have been shown up by the way people are being trained for aged care jobs, said participants in the Financial Review Reshaping Australia Dialogue.

The CEO of PwC's Skills for Australia, Sara Caplan, said the pandemic and the aged care royal commission showed the sector had very low employment status and was seen as not offering a real career path.
