Online training helps resolve health talent crisis
More emphasis within universities on online learning means students studying a range of healthcare courses can now more easily live, learn and work in rural and regional locations, rather than have to move to the city to study.
This is helping to train a much larger healthcare workforce. It’s also a stepping stone to ensuring there is enough healthcare staff in the regions and the bush, where the shortage of trained healthcare workers is so acute. Online training is also helping to upskill city staff, although face-to-face learning will always have an important place in healthcare education.
