2023 started well enough but as we hobble to the end of the year vice chancellors are asking: “what the heck just happened”.
For the nation’s universities, 2023 was supposed to be a year of recalibration after three years of being pummelled by the pandemic and its aftermath, It was also a year of looking ahead as the first major review of the sector got into full swing.
Instead, as we head to the end of the year, vice chancellors are licking their wounds and wondering what the heck happened.
