The resignation of Labor senator Kim Carr has unleashed an outpouring of sorrow from the higher education and research sectors, with the Victorian politician lauded for his deep engagement and profound understanding of the policy areas he worked with for three decades.
During his time in government and opposition Senator Carr was “singular” in his advocacy and depth of understanding and notable for his lion-like stalking of public servants during Senate estimates.
