Years of political interference have corroded the integrity, capacity and independence of the Australian Research Council, says the head of a review into the funding body.
Margaret Sheil, vice chancellor of Queensland University of Technology, said her priorities to help rebuild the ARC included re-establishing a board to oversee governance and rebuild expertise and capacity in senior staff as a means of restoring trust in the organisation.
