First Ramsay scholars: Looking to the past to understand the future

Margot Holbert is not a fan of modernism. Her architectural aesthetic leans towards Renaissance flourishes and gothic touches of centuries past and which she hopes to revive in a new era of Australian architecture.

COVID interruptions permitting, Ms Holbert, 24, will depart for South Bend, Indiana, at the end of the month to undertake a masters degree in architecture at the University of Notre Dame as one of the inaugural tranche of Ramsay Postgraduate Scholars.
