As Melbourne took on the title of the most locked down city in the world, Joseph Folwell was getting ready to return to school. After 245 days in lockdown over the past two years, his preparation for his final exams had been anything but normal.

And there was very little normal about his and his fellow students’ return to school on Tuesday morning. Elbow bumps were in, masks were on, and an exam was on the table.
