Universities focus outside the classroom to create job-ready graduates

Employability is all the rage at Australia’s universities as they seek to prepare graduates for an ever changing workforce in which a “job for life” is an outdated concept.

“When I went to university, it was simply to come out with the discipline-specific skills that you needed, but it’s so different now,” says Professor Laura-Anne Bull, deputy vice-chancellor education, experience and employability at Melbourne’s Swinburne University of Technology.
