Several times over her career Rachel Baird became aware she wasn’t being paid the same as the men working around her. Talking about pay was discouraged so it was usually an inadvertent discovery made working as a lawyer, academic and consultant in male-dominated fields.
“It knocks the wind out of you,” Dr Baird said.
