When Justine Cain was appointed group chief executive of Diabetes Australia, she was intent on doing everything at once. She wanted to be a good leader, someone who responded to her staff, and made an impact when it came to assisting the estimated 1.3 million people living with diabetes in Australia.
“When you’re hearing tough stories every day about people making choices between paying for car insurance or accessing medication it’s really tough – you want to help. A person’s postcode or bank balance should not be a barrier to good health. That’s what drives me,” she says.
