The COVID-19 pandemic created or returned 14 Australians to billionaire status, including Mineral Resources founder Chris Ellison and Canva billionaires Melanie Perkins, Cliff Obrecht and Cameron Adams.

The pandemic also returned mining moguls Hope Welker, John Hancock and Bianca and Ginia Rinehart, the daughters and son of Australia’s richest woman, Gina Rinehart, to the billionaire ranks in 2021, after falling off in 2019 and 2020.
