Superannuation and global pension funds can’t get enough of infrastructure. They are pouring money into infrastructure assets and triggering a wave of takeovers.

Unlisted infrastructure returns have consistently outperformed Australian shares since 2009, data from asset manager Invest Unlisted shows. Tellingly, those returns rose over the 2007-09 Global Financial Crisis and COVID-19 pandemic as sharemarkets tanked.
