How to reap higher yields offshore as rates coast sideways
Emerging economies and sub-investment-grade companies have good reasons to pay chunky yields.
While the investment universe extends well beyond the coastline, Australian investors like to stick with what is familiar.
This home bias can see them miss opportunities. Two such vast pools include bonds issued by governments of emerging economies, and by foreign companies that don’t quite qualify as investment grade in the eyes of credit rating agencies.
