If you don’t live with your parents or visit every day, it may be easy to miss the small things and the signs that an older parent is not coping as well as they used to with day-to-day needs.

As an older person, you may want to ignore the facts for as long as possible, fearing that putting your hand up to ask for help might be the first step on a slippery slope.
