Tania Katsanis no longer wants to talk about the way Google and Facebook destroyed Flowers By Fruit, the small business she operated for more than a dozen years.
She's given up complaining about the way Google would sell advertisements when customers searched for "flowers by fruit": ads that would look like they were for her store − which, as the name suggests, sold edible floral arrangements, made of fruit − but which were really for a competitor's store, confusing her customers and driving them away, despite her having a trademark on that name.
