Optus chairman Paul O’Sullivan says the company’s next chief executive would benefit from having experience in the telecommunications industry as the country’s second-largest network searches for its next leader.

Kelly Bayer Rosmarin resigned earlier this week after almost four years in the top job after a nationwide outage left Optus customers unable to use the network for 16 hours. The company was hit with a major cybersecurity breach late last year.
