OpenAI has unveiled the most advanced version yet of the model behind its wildly popular ChatGPT chatbot, demonstrating real-time verbal conversations, in what co-founder and chief executive Sam Altman described as being “like AI from the movies”.
At a livestreamed launch event overnight on Tuesday (AEST), OpenAI launched GPT-4o a day before rival Google was scheduled to unveil AI developments at its developer conference.
