OpenAI, the artificial intelligence company behind ChatGPT, has signed a deal with US news organisation Axios that is unlike nearly all the previous financial arrangements between big tech platforms and media companies.
On Wednesday, OpenAI and Axios said the cashed-up AI giant would bankroll Axios’ expansion into four new cities, where it will set up newsrooms to provide local journalism.
