Nanosonics slides 8pc despite sales bounceback
Nanosonics chief executive Michael Kavanagh has defended the infection prevention technology company’s first-half results amid a 10 per cent sell-off, saying the bounceback in unit sales tells the true story about the company’s performance in the half.
The company, which makes a microwave-sized disinfection device for ultrasound probes, suffered an 11 per cent hit to revenue in the six months to December 31. Revenue came in at $43.1 million, as its major reseller, GE Healthcare, reduced its orders due to a surplus of inventory in the challenging June quarter of 2020, when hospitals globally grappled with COVID-19.
