Infection prevention medical device company Nanosonics has pushed back the launch date of its much-anticipated second product to 2022, as the business continues to grapple with the consequences of COVID-19.

On Tuesday the business revealed that fourth-quarter sales of its microwave-sized device called Trophon, which sterilises ultrasound probes without chemicals, had plummeted, as its sales representatives struggled to get access to hospitals in the US amid the pandemic.
