Melbourne school trains future e-sports stars
Wyndham Tech School, a Melbourne school specialising in science, technology, engineering and maths skills, has launched Australia’s first high school class dedicated to e-sports, which aims to give students knowledge about the growing professional video gaming industry.
For nine weeks, year 9 students from nearby Thomas Carr College will spend four hours a week learning how to put on an e-sports tournament, including skills in basic business and finance, marketing and social media influencing, and tournament co-ordination and operations.
