Back in 2010, when Herbert Smith Freehills partner Peter Dunne was asked by Atlassian co-founder Scott Farquhar if he had much experience with expansion capital, he had no idea how pivotal the conversation would be for his career.

At the time Dunne had little experience in the field, but told Farquhar straight that if any other lawyers in Australia claimed to be experts, they would be lying.
