Medicare numbers, prescription information taken in MediSecure hack

Australians’ prescription information was accessed in the hack on MediSecure, the national cybersecurity co-ordinator has confirmed, escalating the stakes in the ransomware case.
Doctors’ personal information was also accessed by the anonymous hackers, along with Medicare numbers of an unknown portion of the Australians who received more than 143 million digital scripts between 2020 and 2023.
