Customers of Optus, Medibank and Latitude Financial who had their sensitive personal details splashed over the web now understand the pain of a hack, but Australians are still putting themselves at risk, says Air Marshal Darren Goldie.
Mr Goldie, who is the country’s first national cybersecurity co-ordinator, said individuals especially needed to be more attentive to behaviours that put their personal information at risk, such as having weak passwords and clicking on links without thinking.
