Investors aren’t buying Google’s AI future – yet

The search giant’s parent, Alphabet, produced solid earnings, but shareholders are tiring of claims about future magic without answers to important questions.

On the surface, Google’s parent company, Alphabet, delivered plenty for investors to like in its second-quarter earnings announcement on Wednesday morning.

But the muted market reaction will show Alphabet chief executive Sundar Pichai and his big tech peers that artificial intelligence sizzle is no longer enough. It’s time for the steak.
