How hackers are using AI to trick their way through cyber defences

The level of corporate appetite for artificial intelligence projects and the level of spending being poured into developing the technology are telling two conflicting stories.

Global spending on generative AI will grow 76 per cent this year to reach $US644 billion ($1.1 trillion), data from research giant Gartner shows, while corporate expectations of GenAI’s capabilities are declining due to high failure rates in initial proof-of-concept work and dissatisfaction with current GenAI results.
