Former market darling GetSwift has been found guilty of contravening continuous disclosure rules 22 times, and contraventions of misleading and deceptive conduct laws on 40 occasions, in what the judge described as a “public relations-driven approach to disclosure” designed to push up its share price.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission launched a legal action against technology service company GetSwift and two directors, Bane Hunter and former AFL footballer Joel MacDonald, in February 2019. It later amended its claim to include former director Brett Eagle.
