Scott Farquhar to succeed Robyn Denholm as Tech Council chair

Atlassian co-founder Scott Farquhar has called on the Australian government to accelerate the economy’s transition away from its dependence on natural resources as he prepares to take on a new role as chair of the Tech Council of Australia.

Farquhar, the country’s fifth-richest person, stepped down as Mike Cannon-Brookes’ co-chief executive of software giant Atlassian last year. He will succeed Tesla chairwoman Robyn Denholm as chair of the Tech Council, the tech industry lobby group, later this month.
