OpenAI co-founder and chief executive Sam Altman says chatting with its newly released GPT-4.5 model is the first time he has felt as if he is having a conversation with a thoughtful person rather than artificial intelligence.
However, the amount of hardware required, such as Nvidia graphics processing units, is so large that its new model will be available only to paying customers for now.
