Artificial intelligence keeps the spirits up during the pandemic
When Australians first went into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it became somewhat of a source of national amusement that one part of the retail sector to boom was the country’s bottle shops.
In April 2020, polling by YouGov Galaxy revealed 20 per cent of Australians were purchasing more alcohol than usual, despite pubs and clubs being closed, and bottle shop-owners lined up to tell The Australian Financial Review that their profits were up by as much as 50 per cent.
