Shayne Elliott final goodbye with ANZ friends

On Tuesday night, a few dozen of ANZ’s most important friends and family gathered at the Alto Event Space at Melbourne’s GPO to farewell Shayne Elliott.

Those who got the call-up give a clue to his Melbourne rat pack. The likes of Lindsay Fox, Peter Yates, Raphael Geminder, David Smorgon and Mark Korda. There was LaTrobe Financial’s former president Greg O’Neill, RBA deputy governor Carol Schwartz and Seven Group’s Ryan Stokes (who was Elliott’s tennis-seat buddy earlier this year). Elliott’s successor as CEO of ANZ, Nuno Matos, was notably absent.
