Jewellery Bishop no shoe-in for Rio Tinto board

Like spiralling debris in a Kansas storm, there goes another sinecure without former Foreign Minister Julie Bishop’s name on it.

The Australian’s Andrew Burrell revealed on Thursday that South Australian Premier Steven Marshall held “tangible” talks with JBish on the prospect of the naturalised Western Australian socialite moving back to her native Adelaide and, specifically, into Government House when its current tenant Hieu Van Le clocks up five years there come September 1.
