Deloitte staff were understandably angry last week when this column revealed the firm’s senior partners were sunning themselves in Cairns on a strategy retreat while they kept the billable hours ticking over down south.
Add to it the fact that 100-plus partners and more than 800 lower-level staff have been made redundant as part of new CEO Joanne Gorton’s cost-cutting mission, and it’s surprising they didn’t torch the place.
