David Droga’s ‘menacing’ Tamarama mansion gets court go-ahead
Advertising executive David Droga and wife Marisa can build a curving two-storey home on the Tamarama headland after the Land and Environment Court criticised the local Waverley Council – which called the plan “menacing” – for fixating on the past in the eastern Sydney suburb.
The superior court this week ruled in favour of Mr and Mrs Droga’s plan to build a five-bedroom house with a basement garage on the cliff top – a site they acquired for $45 million in 2022 – above the Tamarama Surf Lifesaving Club and overlooking the popular Tamarama-Bondi coastal walkway.
