Stockland chief executive Mark Steinert expects his successor to conduct a full strategic review of the company and its operations after Tarun Gupta takes over running the country's largest diversified developer this year.

While it was natural that Mr Gupta, currently Lendlease's chief financial officer, would take time to scrutinise the company's operations and would do so with the full backing of Stockland's board, Mr Steinert declined to say what differences he thought Mr Gupta would bring to the job.
