COVID-19 halts work on Scape student tower in Melbourne
The site of the world's largest student accommodation tower – Scape's 61-level, 740-bed building in central Melbourne – remained closed on Monday after it shut for deep cleaning last week when four employees of a concreting subcontractor tested positive to COVID-19.
Contractor Built's 99 Franklin Street site closed after the I&D Group employees tested positive. The cleaning process was completed on Friday, but the site needed sign-off from Victoria's Department of Health and Human Services to resume work, which sources said it received late on Monday.
