Salta goes to Docklands

Developer Salta Properties is planning a $150 million mixed-use project for a prime vacant block overlooking the waterfront in Melbourne's Docklands. Salta, which previously focused on industrial developments, yesterday confirmed it had taken the site on the corner of La Trobe Street and Harbour Esplanade for an undisclosed sum. The previous owner was Ian Gandel's Pacific Harbour Developments, which bought the site for $4 million four years ago and planned a $90 million office development. Salta is yet to detail its plans for the new Docklands site, next to the Telstra stadium. Nick Lenaghan
