NSW Premier Chris Minns dodges a fight over Palestine

Labor Party factional leaders in NSW avoided a high-profile split over the Israel-Palestinian conflict by negotiating a vague endorsement of a Palestinian state, enabling Premier Chris Minns to rally a mostly united party at its first state conference in power after 12 years.

At Sydney Town Hall on Sunday Mr Minns received a standing ovation as he entered and left the biennial gathering of 900 party members, who met to debate policy and vote for party officials. The premier promised $240 million to train apprentices across the state and new protections for renters.
