Queensland’s police commissioner has announced she will stand down, ending speculation about her future amid a youth crime crisis and reports of officer unrest.
Commissioner Katarina Carroll said she would not seek an extension to her contract that was due to expire in July, and would walk away from the job on March 1 after almost five years.
