A “deeply humbled” Chris Minns has vowed not to play politics with the pandemic after being appointed NSW Opposition Leader. The father of three was appointed leader after his only rival, former leader Michael Daley, withdrew from the race to succeed Jodi McKay.
Mr Minns joined the Labor Party at 18 and later became assistant secretary of the NSW Labor Party. He was elected to state parliament in 2015 and in his maiden parliamentary speech pushed for mandatory Mandarin lessons in schools and curbing the influence of unions on Labor.
