Judges are mostly Anglo-Celtic, married and speak only English

The Federal Government should deliver annual reports on the gender and ethnic make-up of courts as part of a “commitment to promoting diversity in the judiciary”, according to an Australian Law Reform Commission report.

The ALRC report on judicial bias also says there should be a judicial commission to receive complaints and provide ongoing education for judges, a move that Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus backed before the election.
