Both Anthony Albanese’s fiancee and son are members of Qantas’ exclusive Chairman’s Lounge despite the prime minister saying his son was effectively his “plus one”.

The prime minister has come under pressure from the opposition to explain his relationship with Qantas after a new book by former The Australian Financial Review columnist Joe Aston revealed Mr Albanese would liaise personally with the airline’s former chief executive, Alan Joyce, about travel upgrades.
