Moves to install former NSW transport minister Andrew Constance as the Liberal Party’s candidate in the must-win federal seat of Gilmore look set to spark a revolt from local branch members, amid strong support for a democratic preselection.

No date has been scheduled for the preselection vote in the Labor-held NSW South Coast seat, and some local party members are worried that the Liberal Party executive will install Mr Constance, who is the preferred pick of Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
